For a project, I rebranded the Nederlands Dans Theater including a variety of print and web materials. Our assignment was to give an existing dance company a new identity while maintaining their existing logo. We studied how motion is visually portrayed throughout imagery and typography. Leveraging my background as a lifelong dancer, I focused on capturing motion in imagery and typography, emphasizing the nuanced gestures and athleticism intrinsic to dance.
Sum Thoughts was a program performed by NDT in 2018. The show featured a world premiere by in-house choreographers as well as experimental work by new and established talent. Each choreographer was unique in their signature but overall they styled very sharply defined movements.
My approach was to showcase the artists' physicality and precise technique by integrating typography within the performers' space, creating a visually fluid experience reminiscent of dancers gracefully crossing the stage.
